Loving Things is a quirky and slow-burning theatre performance presented as an album of videos.
Unfolding through a sensory exploration of objects and their “lives” and possibilities beyond human beings, it questions the human-centric approach we take toward inanimate things. Loving Things ultimately sees the darkness of things right now, but believes in our ability to empathize and extend care toward nonhuman and inanimate things. It seeks to contribute to urgent discussions of ecology and sustainability by encouraging the audience to interact more thoughtfully with their own possessions.
The show is an album of videos hosted online for download. It comprises a main performance video as well as ‘b-side’ videos (like b-side tracks), to form an album of performance. The performance is not a single video, but a compilation and assemblage.
